Thank you so much for the Body mechanics way of digging a ditch. I just recently recently got a quote to put a 6 inch drain in 50 feet $2000. To get an excavator to do it. I’ll do it myself. It may take me a little bit of time. The original quote was 6200 for the pipe 45 tons of dirt grass seed I asked him to go down on price just to dig the ditch for the pipe 2000.😮

So is the Well point portion 1 1/4 up until the check valve and then 1” pipe all the way up the well shaft to the surface? It seems that most Well point sizes are 1 1/4 or 2”

How is this a new way? My dad has had a vertical drain in his backyard for over 20 years.

Here in Columbia County NY, 130 mills north of NYC, picks and or mattoxs and digging bars are required before the pointed shovel can do much of anything with the hardpan, rocks and roots. It's an event when you can dig a fence post hole without doing most of the work with a digging bar. Post hole diggers are almost useless by themselves around here.

Hi chuck, does your sand screen ever plug up? Or do you ever have to blow your well out to get rid of sediment/ sand? If so how long does the sand screen last for you in florida?

Your soil looks like sandy soil, but here in Middle Georgia where the soil is hard as concrete red clay, things are a little different. Most places here you cannot even get a shovel in the ground without loosening up the clay with the pick beforehand. Your method is great in sandy soil...

You forgot about simply using downspout pipe as an extension. They can quickly flip up and down when cutting the grass and look much better

How do you determine where to put your trench??... also could I don't this just along one wall??

American homes are built like total sh@t you would think a builder would but this system in before it becomes a problem.

Wth would you use a trenching shovel to compare the speed of digging a trench the width and depth of a normal spade. Of course its faster. You dont use a trenching shovel for that. Its for laying conduit, water lines or digging out the sides of a pipeline to fully expose it in a narrow trench.

Thanks for the video. Im about to do a wash in sandpoint for a customer and will be using a pvc style with a nozzle that adds to the tip. The nozzle has a check valve plus a 1” threaded connection inside the sand point for a barbed adapter to lightly thread into which will have a 1” rigid water line connected to my 2” water pump. Once the sand point is jetted in the barbed adapter is unthreaded via the rigid 1” line that was just used to wash it in. The check valve in the flushing nozzle tip of the sandpoint will be closed once flushing is stopped (its only job is for setting the sandpoint). Once the 1” flush line is removed from inside the 2” I will connect the 2” to the line to the pump in the house with a check valve inline and done. Water on. That’s the plan, let’s hope it goes as planned. Haha
